Do you have free superior education? Or at least, the option? well we don’t , that is a fact and there is a huge students movement in Chile in this moment fighting for a quality education accessible to everybody
You have a very smart kid and you belong to middle class and you are lost ! you are not poor enough to get a scholarship, neither wealthy enough to pay a career, so what’s left? A huge debt ; yes we have chance for a credit, but that should be one of the choices not THE ONLY ONE choice.
What the student are asking is a education system that allow everybody who wants to, have access to study a university career, not just those who can afford it , got the idea??
If neighbor countries like Argentina can do it , why we don’t ?
Government always make us believe we are ” the most stable” country in the region , that our economy is one the healthiest one in the region , so if we are the rich neighbor in the hood , why our children can not go to superior schools?
Is a fair request don’t you think??
So if you see in the news struggles in Chile, is true, but don’t be afraid if some media shows you just the bad side , some delinquents fighting police , that is less than 1% of the people who go to this massive marches, but looks like the protest are all about violence acts, remember, the news channels need to sale and good news don’t sale !!!
I wanted to show this to the world because I feel proud that our young people have the guts to stand against the system and they do it nicely, smartly and some occasions very artistically.

The first week of June 2011, one of our 2000 volcanoes erupted, TRUE, indeed more than 2000 is the number of volcanoes located in the Chilean Andes, this time ” Puyehue ” was the star of this smoke and lighting show.
TRUE , Some of the near villages were evacuated but this was a preventive action just in case the volcano activity get worse, something that never happened.
FALSE , We never had rivers of lava burning everything down
TRUE , some domestic airlines cancel their flights due to ashes , but again, it was just precaution
FALSE , No ski resorts in Chile were affected because of the ushes
TRUE , because of the prevealing winds Argentina suffered all the consecuenses of this eruption
Bariloche airport had to close for couple days ,as well as some flights in Buenos Aires had to be cancelled
TRUE , everything is normal now, the volcano activity decrease a lot and everybody is expecting a great ski season 2011 …

our advice is , take advantage of the great deals that many ski resorts are offering because of this event, many people cancelled their reservations even when the ski season was not open yet , and nobody knew exactly how the volcano was affecting those places, at the end , nothing occured

Bariloche Airport has an estimated date for opening June 30 th …( Buses is a great option in Argentina , they have great service , modern bed seats, tv, and some of them even with WI-FI)

The strike that paralized Punta Arenas for 7 days finally arrive to a good end , all the blockades provoque by local people demanding the attention of the central gorvenment about the rise in the home gas in almost 17%, were cleared.

So please the situation is completely normal now , local people is very happy because they arrive to an agrement with the Piñera
