The Chilean Tourism Network is a community  formed by professional tourist guides from CHILE specialized in different areas of our country; this time offering our advices from the area of Atacama Desert; Lakes District, Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt ; Patagonia, Punta Arenas and Torres del Paine.

Our mission : is helping the English speaking traveler ,with your next trip to this areas of Chile and giving you the details and advices which you must know to make your travel experience the best as possible according your needs and budget.Eventhough English is not our native language, due to, we are 100% Chileans , we try to give the most honest advice, in spite of all our grammar mistakes!

We offer unique connections such as: Home Hosted meals, Home Lodging; our belief is that you can not truly experience the “flavor” of a place when you are limited to big chain Hotels or regular travel agencies tours, that’s why  we have a few families willing to host you in your next trip to Chile. A message from The founder…

During these years I’ve noticed what the visitor really enjoys is “being part” of the country, seeing, touching and even tasting it, and the best of it is  most of those things could be done FOR FREE!

Unfortunately most of the traditional travel agencies have forgotten this, and in their routes they just show beautiful buildings(nothing wrong with this) and places that sometimes are very far from our culture, charging overpriced tours that leave you not only with an emptiness in your heart , also in your pockets.

I am Alex Maureira , a qualified guide from Chile , I am 100% Chilean and , I’ve been involved in tourism industry for 13 years!;  the last 10 years,  guiding groups all over my country , I am 36 years old and I have a beautiful family with a beautiful wife who works in Hotel business, but when we are at home she is the best chef ever!! , we will post  some ” how to” cooking Chilean recipes so stay tuned !!. We open this Blog motivated by our same travelers, who saw me, got into trouble when I took tourists away of the regular route .” Why do you take the tourists to those places. there is nothing there…! That was the phrase that I heard most lately, of course, not from the travelers, they just loved to see something different: real neighborhoods, local flea markets, art galleries, schools, street shows, taste  home meals or just seating in a local cafe to share a converstation with locals , believe it or not , most of this activities involve NO MONEY at all!!. So I dedice to tranfer all this knowledge to whoever want to take our advices.

So, finally, We decided to connect the best tourist guides of the most visited areas of our Country and   provide an unparalleled “on field” tour advice .
